The problem
A rights-holder files a takedown notice. The listing comes down. Your account gets a strike. There is no preview, no grace period, no chance to edit the title and try again.
One strike is a problem. Eight strikes is the end of the shop: every listing, every review, every repeat customer, gone.
Most sellers do not know how aggressive the system has become until the first email arrives. By then, they are already playing catch-up against rights-holders with documented Etsy takedown activity.
Etsy IP strike scale
Seller policyEach strike compounds. Listings are pulled, not edited. The shop you spent years building can be retired by a single email.
What it does
Paste a listing. Get a verdict per term. Decide what to change before Etsy decides for you.
STEP 01
Title, tags, description: the same fields you fill in on Etsy. No browser extension, no API key, no integration to set up.
STEP 02
Each meaningful term is matched against active trademark registrations sourced from USPTO, EUIPO, and WIPO via Signa. Rule-based: no AI guesswork.
STEP 03
Clear, possible, or matched. For matches: the rights-holder, jurisdiction, and Nice classes. You decide what to rephrase.
v1 scope
Honestly listed. No buzzwords.
From the founder
I lost my Etsy shop the way most sellers lose theirs: one email at a time. Eight IP strikes from rights-holders I had never thought to check against. Listings I had up for years, written by hand, pulled in minutes.
By the third notice I was rewriting tags in a panic and watching the strike count climb anyway. The takedown system is fast, automated, and one-sided. The only side it is not designed for is the seller's.
ListingShield is the tool I needed before the first strike. It will not make a listing risk-free; that is not a thing. But it will tell you, in plain language, which words a rights-holder owns and which words are yours to use.
